Library and Information Center

The Library and Information Center, located at an equal distance from our university’s academic units and student dormitories, has a total indoor area of 5,280 m² together with the reading rooms situated within the faculties. The Center includes seating for 500 people, a computer lab equipped with 50 computers, 4 group study rooms, reading halls, a periodicals hall, social areas, and additional reading rooms within the faculties with a combined capacity of 480 seats. The total capacity of the library and reading rooms is 980 users.

The Library and Information Center houses more than 200,000 printed books, over 300,000 e-books, 1,975 different printed journals, more than 320,000 electronic journals, over 3,000 master’s and doctoral theses, and more than 3,200,000 electronic resources. Our printed and electronic collections are continuously updated.

The Center also features 12 special collections composed of the works of prominent Turkish scholars and notable intellectuals.

The Library and Information Center provides user-oriented services. During the academic year, the Center operates 24/7 without closing, and students’ hot and cold food and beverage needs are met free of charge.

All study tables in the work areas are single-seaters and are equipped with individual lighting, electrical outlets, and ergonomic chairs to provide students with a comfortable and efficient study environment.

RFID Smart Library Systems are used in our Library and Information Center. The system includes smart tags, an RFID security gate, catalog search kiosks, self-check and return kiosks, handheld terminals, and a book-cleaning device. Through this system, barriers between the user and the books have been eliminated.

For student health and safety, all returned books are disinfected using a book-cleaning device before being placed back on the shelves.

Our library is fully accessible and provides user-centered services. Since students’ identification information is automatically received from the Student Information System at the beginning of each academic year, there is no need for students to apply separately for library membership.

Users can perform catalog searches, extend due dates, reserve books or study rooms, and update their personal information through the My Mobile Library application on their smartphones.

With its rich and up-to-date collection, the Library and Information Center serves as a bridge between information and its users, ensuring that our students have FAST, EASY, and UNLIMITED access to accurate information.
